THE AK UNIVERSITY
AK University is located in the heart of Orange County, California, just minutes from So-Cal’s beautiful beaches, with easy access to many local attractions and John Wayne Airport. At AKU, we love what we do. We believe the best learning environment is positive, informational, hands-on, and fun.
AKU classes are private and personal. Each class is limited to one student, providing the best hands-on environment to acquire the techniques while maximizing your time to practice your new knife-making skills.
MEET OUR TEACHERS
Neil Kamimura and Steve Schwarzer classes are events based and will be announced upon being held.
Andreas Kalani creates knives and cutlery that celebrate the natural beauty of steel and complimentary organic or handmade materials.
One might say Neil Kamimura was born to forge steel into knives. After all, his middle name “Teiji” is an homage to his great-grandfather Teiji Kamimura.
Steve Schwarzer is a Master Bladesmith who sold his first knife in 1976. Makes folders, axes and knives specializing in mosaic Damascus and picture mosaic.
